Of metaphysics and education - Shah Aqeeq and his brothers' Dargah

One of Pi Studio's members recently read a book titled "The power of your subconscious mind" by Joseph Murphy. The book contains interesting research and insights about healing processes prevalent in various cultures throughout the world. Joseph Murphy explained how the subconscious mind aids in the healing process.
Recently, Pi Studio visited the Shah Aqeeq and his other brother's Dargah's in Sujawal , Sindh. The shrines of various brothers were famous for various healing powers such as the curing of diseases and mental illnesses and the removal of Djinn (genies). We noted an interesting place stuck in the past and came to know the different beliefs regarding such healing processes.

A mentally disabled person is tied via chains as he sleeps (aren't we all tied up and asleep too)

A devout follower covers himself in the mud near the shrine. The mud is known to have healing powers.

All in all it was an interesting experience and the answer to the question as to whether Mr. Joseph's research holds the answer to the famous miracles at the respective shrines or whether there are mystical forces at play is unknown to us.
Moreover, we also noted a school for kids where the infrastructure was very poor and the education standard seemed very low. This broke our heart and we hope we can launch some education initiatives with the right donor funding in these areas for a better future of Pakistan.

Phegency 3rd Multi Brand Exhibit

It is only when the tears well up and the soul sings to the tune of the heart that one has truly lived. A similar sensation was felt at the 3rd Phegency Multi Brand Exhibit held at Alliance Francaise Karachi. A multitude of Phegency registered designers put up their stalls for display but this time the exhibit was different for us as we at Pi Studio had also set up a stall selling our work.
Even though we didn't sell that many items but the sheer joy of people loving our work and giving positive comments really lifted our spirits and made us realize that the pains and difficulties of this photographic journey are worth it. Kudos to the Phegency team for the great effort!

Knots brand shoot in coordination with Phegency

Hello friends! Sorry for being away for some time. The Pi Studio team was busy in shooting some great work for all of you. Recently, we teamed up with Phegency for a photo shoot for the brand Knots. Our model was the dazzling Hoor Ali and the makeup was done by Anzala Saleem and Pheby Haroon.

The interesting part of the shoot was the use of speedlights in props for e.g. in a crystal ball. The Simpex trigger was used to fire the strobes, which in turn fired the speedlights in slave mode. The technical details of the shoot are as follows:

Camera Body:
Nikon D300

Lens:
Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 EX DG HSM

Lighting:

Oloong Speedlight SP-680

YONGNUO Flash YN-560II
